A Heartfelt Farewell to Ron Simpson BEM: Celebrating Years of Dedication and Vision
The Uppingham First board is honoured to announce the upcoming retirement of Ron Simpson BEM, our highly respected Executive Director and Secretary, effective 31st December. At 78 years young, Ron has decided that now is the right time to close this chapter of dedicated service, coinciding with the imminent launch of the new all-electric Uppingham Hopper—a project that has held a special place in his heart.
For Ron, the introduction of the all-electric Hopper signifies a “mission accomplished,” leaving behind a lasting legacy for Uppingham and symbolising his unwavering commitment to progress and community well-being.
Ron has been an inspirational figure for Uppingham First and the entire town, tirelessly championing initiatives that have profoundly enriched our community. His vision, leadership, and dedication have transformed Uppingham First into the respected organisation it is today, fostering growth, sustainability and a strong sense of unity. The board, along with the entire Uppingham community, extends deep gratitude for his many years of service.
As Ron steps down, he leaves Uppingham First in the hands of a strong board with a wealth of experience, poised to lead the organisation into its next chapter. The board is committed to building on Ron’s legacy, ensuring that Uppingham First continues to serve as a pillar of support and progress for the community.
The launch of the all-electric Uppingham Hopper is but one of the many legacies Ron leaves behind. His dedication to Uppingham’s future and his thoughtful stewardship have paved the way for continued progress, ensuring that our town remains a vibrant and welcoming place for all.
As Ron and his wife, Margaret, step into this well-deserved new chapter of retirement, we extend our warmest thanks and best wishes to them both. Ron’s contributions to Uppingham will be cherished for years to come, and his spirit of community and care will continue to inspire us all.
