altUppingham sustained its reputation for well organised pubic events today, Armistice Day November 11th 2018, with public praise for the town's programme of activities to mark the centenary of the end of WW1.

Pictured are town councillors and Neighbourhood Forum Executive members David Ainslie, Christine Edwards and Mark Shaw leading the civic and community section of the commemorative parade, walking behind the military standard on its way to St Peter and St Paul's Church for the town's memorial service.

Following the service, lunch and films were available in the church and the Neighbourhood Forum hosted a well attended commemorative lunch in The Falcon Hotel addressed by the Mayor of Oakham Adam Lowe.

An evening beacon lighting ceremony was followed by a community dinner with music and verse hosted by the Rotary Club of Uppingham.
