Stilton Cheese Run Receives Praise

The 2024 Stilton Cheese Run has been praised by a range of participants, many of whom had entered the run for the first time. Over 150 cars registered for this year’s event which requires entrants to follow a choice of defined routes beginning in Uppingham and then travelling through some of the region’s finest countryside. Pictured are some of the early arrivals at the Bell Inn in Stilton, the traditional end of the run.

Robert Towell of BMW CC GB – Central Region thanked the organising volunteer team drawn from Rotary in Uppingham, the Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum, Uppingham First and local residents associations for all their efforts on the day. He said, “This was our first time entering the event as a club. The organisation was excellent and we really enjoyed ourselves. We hope to be at next year’s event”.

Another entrant said, “Thank you so much for today’s Stilton Run. I attended with friends from Derby(shire) in four cars. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Uppingham and all of the way points on the run itself. Lots of interesting cars were on the run , the weather stayed dry and the routes were through lovely countryside and villages.  So we’re already looking forward to next year’s run. Your hard work and that of your cheerful volunteers is much appreciated”.

The Stilton Cheese Run is an annual event organised by Uppingham First in partnership with Rotary and local IT company ClockedIn to coincide with National Drive It Day. More information on the run and its sister event, the September Round Rutland Run, is available at www.stiltoncheeserun.uk
