The Uppingham Hopper volunteer driving team visited Minibus World near Stoke in Trent this week to view available vehicles. The group were searching for an appropriate vehicle to reinstate the very popular Uppingham Hopper bus service piloted in 2016/17 with the help of Rutland and Uppingham councils (pictured).

Just under £15k has been collected from residents and local businesses toward the capital cost of the new project, with Rutland County Council also offering a £25k five year interest free loan. Vehicle options being explored were  a lighter type of bus that can be driven on an ordinary licence and converted vans that are transformed into disabled friendly minibuses.

On Friday February 16th, Uppingham First announced that a suitable vehicle had been identified with delivery  expected before Easter.
