Neighbourhood Forum Nominee Cllr Lucy Lewin has been awarded the prestigious ‘Outstanding female leader in a market town’ award at the 2019 East Midlands Women’s Awards held in Colwick Hall, Nottinghamshire on Friday October 11th 2019 in the presence of the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire. A panel of three judges for the award all selected Lucy’s business and social achievements in Uppingham as their first choice for recognition. Uppingham First Director Ron Simpson BEM, who attended the awards event said, “The Uppingham community was proud to nominate Lucy. We are delighted with her success. She epitomises the entrepreneurial spirit evident in the town and the younger generation of business proprietors now moving the community forward. We will acknowledge her achievement at the next public meeting of the Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum”.
Lucy was elected to Uppingham Town Council in May 2019 and is proprietor of Little Angels Childcare in Uppingham, Rutland.
