The Rotary organised event to highlight the incredible artistic talent and creative works to be found in Uppingham’s galleries has been declared an outstanding success.
The evening incorporated a drinks reception and presentation in the Goldmark Gallery, four other gallery viewings, dinner and guest artist speakers.
Pictured in her Queen Street gallery is Artist and gallery proprietor Rebecca Ivatts who also addressed Rotary members and guests after dinner.
Commenting after the event, Rotary in Uppingham President Ron Simpson BEM said, “Celebrating the Arts in Uppingham was once again a huge success. Feedback from the gallery owners and artists is very positive. It was gratifying that the evening was supported by both the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland and the Uppingham Town Mayor. Once again Uppingham demonstrated that it has an incredible range of talent and punches above its weight as a small market town. It was a pleasure to preside over the evening.”
Rutland Gallery proprietor John Jolley FRSA said, “I want to thank Rotary for a terrific evening. It was extremely well organised and I had wonderful feedback from our visitors to the gallery. Most of whom had never been in the gallery before.”
Uppingham Rotary’s next public event is its Christmas Fair on Friday November 3rd in The Falcon Hotel. Local Artisans wishing to take a stand at the Fair should contact mjs@clara.co.uk
