Uppingham First Director Neil Hermsen has been appointed as a Judge in the 2009 Calor Gas Village of the Year Competition. Neil's appointment follows recognition of his work in chairing Uppingham First's winning entry to the competition in 2008 and his appointment as the first voluntary sector Director on the partnership board.  Neil is Chairman of the Beeches Residents' Association in Uppingham and chaired the town's Parish Plan Group.

Inspector Johnny Monks, the new Rutland Police Chief, has addressed this year's AGM of the Uppingham Business Forum held on April 22nd. Business proprietors were given the opportunity to share areas of concern with the meeting unanimously agreeing that the local beat team were delivering what was expected of them.

The Annual General Meeting of the Uppingham Business Forum was held on Wednesday April 22nd in the Falcon Hotel, Uppingham. Agenda items included a discussion on a shopping incentive scheme and proposals to build a trade marketing stand for exhibitions and shows around the East Midlands.
