Uppingham First is pleased to announce that the Uppingham Webcam has now completed its recording hardware upgrade and is once again helping to protect the local community including businesses located in the market place and high street.
By agreement with the Office of the Information Commissioner the camera hardware retains its images for a maximum of 14 days. This enables local police and any member of the community who believes they have been the victim of a crime within sight of the camera to make a data request for a copy of the incident.
To date the camera has helped address anti social and threatening behaviour, criminal damage, vehicle collision damage where the driver has not stopped and burglary.
Data Manager Ron Simpson advises that contact should be made as soon as possible after any incident thought to be witnessed by the camera. Email rons@clara.net or call 01572 82346 or 07710 328469 for a data request form.
