A travel article in a national newspaper has said that walking in Rutland, England’s smallest county, is unremarkable.
Local countryside advocates are outraged and have called upon the county’s tourism organisation ‘Discover Rutland’ to refute the claim and demonstrate why it is not true.
Best known walks in the county are the 60+ mile Rutland Round supported by CPRE Rutland, the countryside charity and Rutland County Council, and the pedestrian/cycling path around the perimeter of Rutland Water which is owned by Anglian Water.
