Government regulations permitting, Uppingham is to host a return of its very successful series of Social Sundays during the summer of 2021.
Planning is underway to again secure the support of Town and County Councils for a series of Sunday afternoon events in the market place to help support those living alone or simply seeking to socialise in a safe and organised way as the community emerges from Covid -19 lockdown. An events team of four Uppingham First directors are collaborating with local businesses and community groups to deliver the events which are planned to run from late May through to September weather permitting.
Covid-19 compliance at the events will be monitored by the town’s volunteer led Community Emergency Plan Committee. Additional outdoor seating and sit down meals and drinks are key features of Social Sundays along with local business and artisan stalls. The events can also be viewed live on the Uppingham Webcam at www.uppinghamfirst.co.uk
Further details of the events will be announced soon.
