Government regulations permitting, Community Partnership Uppingham First is to host a new classic vehicle charity event in Rutland this September. The event will replace the 2020 Stilton Cheese Classic Vehicle Run which has had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. Date of the new event is Sunday September 19th 2021.
In a Rutland first, the new run will include a heritage electric vehicle section and follow a route visiting some of Rutland’s most historic villages ending in a celebration event in Uppingham.
A number of environmental and classic vehicle organisations will be represented on the run which is destined to become an annual event if successful. Around 100 drivers have already expressed interest in participating. Charitable contributions will support the work of the 2021/22 High Sheriff of Rutland David Wood and the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland Dr Sarah Furness.
