Project founder Ron Simpson BEM, President of Rotary in Uppingham, commented, “Never has a project been so timely. The ongoing virus crisis may require elderly residents to shop online and have the goods delivered. Now some of that trade can come to Uppingham with shops that are not even online. UppShop has huge potential not only to tackle the digital divide and social isolation, but also to support independent local traders in the town’s high street. In time UppShop could make a real economic difference to our local economy.”
