As part of the Uppingham Social Sundays in 2021 series of events, the Uppingham community was invited to join their neighbours for food and entertainment at The Big Picnic on Sunday August 22nd 2021.
Pictured are principal guest performers, the Bell Orchestra, an interactive musical game for families that invited audiences of all ages to come together to play beautiful melodies on giant chimes. The visit was sponsored by Live and Local.
The day included skate ramp demonstrations, Forest School activities with Root and Branch Out, Rutland Youth Dance and their Show Choir, stilt walkers, live music and community stalls.
Lead organiser was Laura Totten from The Crown Hotel who is already thinking about next year’s event. Some seating and support facilities were provided by Uppingham Football Club. Despite inclement weather a large number of residents turned out to join in the fun.
