The 2021 Annual General Meeting of the E J Toon Charitable Trust has elected local business owner and town councillor Mark Shaw as its new Chair.
Mark is proprietor of local company ClockedIn, Chair of the Beeches Residents Association, Vice Chair of the Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum, a director of Uppingham First and a town councillor.
Retiring chair Ron Simpson BEM said, “I can think of no more appropriate person to continue the leadership of this important local charity. He was the unanimous choice of the Trustees. Mark’s quiet style of effective leadership and extensive knowledge of the Uppingham community is exactly what is required to complete the charity’s mission of distributing the balance of the E J Toon funds to the over 80s living in the town. His IT expertise will also be valuable in completing the charity’s effective service delivery as we approach the final payouts from the charity fund”
