Neighbourhood Forum Community Champions Margaret and Ron Simpson this week celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
For the last 25 years the couple have served the Uppingham and Rutland community, with many more years of public service in the East Midlands and North East before that.
Currently active in the Rotary movement, the UppWatch good neighbour scheme, the town’s defibrillator network, the Uppingham First community partnership and the operation of the Uppingham Hopper, Margaret and Ron say they are simply examples of the many community volunteers that make Uppingham and Rutland such a special place to live, work and play.
