Uppingham First director and Rutland Biz Club president Geoffrey Pointon has died. His family have issued the following message…..
‘It is with profound sadness that the loving sons and daughter of Geoffrey Pointon have to announce the death of their father. He died peacefully in Kettering General Hospital on the 2nd April 2020 after a short illness. Geoffrey was well known for his long and illustrious career in the pension and insurance industry. He pioneered Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS) and Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPP) and helped to create a whole wealth of financial advice and insurance broking firms mainly based in the East Midlands and London. He will be missed by all who knew him, his charisma and good humour never failed to make people smile. A great man and a wonderful father who meant the world to all of us.
Due to the current health lockdown, the family intend that there will be a closed ceremony initially undertaken, followed by a celebration memorial service once freedom of movement has been restored. They would also like to thank the staff of Kettering General Hospital for their professionalism, dedication and kindness.’
