Partnership Seeks Community Hub Project for Uppingham PDF Print E-mail

Uppingham First has entered into dialogue with representatives of the Community Builders Fund to pursue the possibility of a Community Hub project for Uppingham. Community hubs bring together a range of service provision at a local level. Development monies are available to help local neighbouurhoods establish hubs thereby encouraging greater social cohesion and community sustainabilityl

Uppingham First has registered an interest on behalf of Uppingham for the Carbon Challenge Fund. A submission for a substantial capital grant will be made in the coming weeks.

Early Feedback on Uppingham 2025 Positive PDF Print E-mail

Uppingham Community Partnership Secretary Ron Simpson reports that early feedback on the partnership's publication 'Uppingham 2025' has been very positive. Ron reports general comments received include 'a good read' , 'well done', 'a useful document' and 'it makes you think about what we actually want'. The first written response to the document calls for more bungalows to built in the west of the town. The  second concerns the need to control illuminated signs.  Respondents have until the end of the  year to submit their comments.

Uppingham 2025, a set of 30+ proposals for the development of Uppingham has been published and is now available to read in the town library, cafes and pubs. Local businesses have had a copy delivered. Copies for community organisations and interested individuals are available from the Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum. Tel: 01572 823465.
