Business Forum AGM set for April 13th 2010 PDF Print E-mail

The 2010 AGM of Uppingham Business Forum will be held in the Falcon Hotel at 5.30pm on Tuesday April 13th.

Agenda items will include updates and action plans on Uppingham 2025, the Uppingham Wifi  project and the printing museum and community hub project. Nominations for Directorships of Uppingham First will be voted upon and further consideration of action to be taken on car parking and promotion of the town debated.

All Uppingham businesses are welcome to attend the meeting.

Partnership to be Featured in AMT Bulletin PDF Print E-mail

The Uppingham First Community Partnership is to be profiled in the next edition of the Association of Market Towns (AMT) national newsletter. The early achievements of the Partnership, which has its first AGM in May, are attracting national attention with its publication Uppingham 2025 creating interest from other market towns in the country and the Partnership's proposal for a printing museum and community hub being described as an 'exciting development' by the Big Lottery.

The Falcon Reveals its Talons PDF Print E-mail

On Saturday March 27th, Falcon Hotel proprietor Martin Hill and his team launched the latest  stage of their efforts to revitalise the Falcon Hotel with the official opening of the new Talons Restaurant. Talons has one of the best views of the historic Uppingham Market Place and can seat 30 diners in comfort. Guests at the opening night enjoyed a tasting menu of outstanding dishes prepared by Chef Shaun Williams.

Cutting a red ribbon to invite guests into the restaurant, Uppingham Rotarians Margaret and Ron Simpson praised the new initiative as "A valuable addition to the Uppingham Tourism offer and a development in keeping with the heritage of the Falcon Hotel."

At the end of the evening, the full staff team were presented to guests by Mrs Ryan - Pyke who had organised the launch and led on the restaurant project.   For reservations telephone 01572 823535

The Federation of Small Business has organised a 'QuestionTime' event in Rutland for April 1st 2010. The event will be chaired by political commentator Iain Dale, who writes for the Daily Telegraph, the New Statesman and many other journals. Panel members include Alan Duncan MP, and the parliamentary election candidates for the Liberal Democrat and Labour Parties.
