 Uppingham First has been invited to be part
of a new neighbourhood planning ‘design’ initiative led by the Ministry of
Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and national community
charity Locality.
A new toolkit is to be prepared that will
help groups preparing Neighbourhood Plans to define and promote good
design. This will allow them to
influence the form of new development and positively plan for change, whilst
preserving community values.
The initiative will take the form of two
multidisciplinary workshops, the first of which is to be hosted by AECOM in
London. AECOM is a global network of experts working with clients, communities
and peers to develop and implement innovative solutions to a wide range of
design challenges.
