altAn analysis of Uppingham‘s unique offer as a market town with a high concentration of ‘independent’ traders reveals an important characteristic which makes the town attractive to visitors. It hosts an extraordinary range of heritage and creative goods and skills. Over 20 of these businesses have now come together with local graphic design company Inc House and community partnership Uppingham First, to showcase the town’s creative offer by publishing the Uppingham Antiques, Art, Books and Creative Crafts Trail (The ABC Trail) in the form of a colourful map which identifies the location and character of each of the visitor destinations.

Five thousand copies of the trail in pamphlet form are being printed for distribution in September. An online version will be available later in the year. Want to know how many galleries or bookshops the town has and what their specialities are?  Who specialises in jewellery design?  Where will you find the violin maker or the clock maker?  Looking for a particular yarn or wool? Where to find that rare antique, vinyl record, work of art, piece of furniture or first edition hardback? These and other visitor questions are answered by the ABC Trail.

Fancy a coffee or lunch at an independent while on the trail? These are listed too. For a copy of the trail pamphlet, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
