altIn a testimony to the community spirit of Uppingham, sufficient funds have now been raised (including receipt of a RCC £25k loan) to inaugurate a permanent Uppingham Hopper community bus service. The Hopper was  officially launched by the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, Dr Sarah Furness in the presence of the Uppingham Town Mayor Alec Crombie, Cllr Nick Begy, Deputy Leader of Rutland County Council, Uppingham First board members, staff members of Uppingham Surgery, members of the Rotary Club of Uppingham, the volunteer driver team and community supporters.

Symbolically, the official launch ceremony was held at the Uppingham Surgery at 8.45am on Thursday May 10th 2018.  The bus then went formally into service at 9am.

See the new hopper timetable here. Credit card size copies will be available in local shops soon.
