altThe Beeches Residents Association (BRA) has held its 2017 AGM. Guest speakers included Janet Thompson, Chair of the Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum, Geoff Thompson talking about the Churches Together mission 'Alive' and PC2988 Joshua Ace (pictured), Uppingham's new Neighbourhood Police Officer, talking about his community safety role and policing priorities.

In an informative evening, ending with cheese and wine, the BRA re-elected  Mark Shaw as Chairman for 2017/18, Mike McWhinnie as Vice Chair, Roy Farmer as Treasurer and Ron Simpson BEM as Secretary.  Topics discussed included the new housing planned for Uppingham, hazards on The Beeches relevant to the new community emergency plan, the Association's submission to the 'neighbourhood' section of  East Midlands in Bloom and the highlights of the updated and soon to be published Uppingham Town Centre & Business Zones Plan.
