Following a welcome by Uppingham First Chair, Robert Wills, guests were invited to view high definition video being streamed into a retired resident's home at just under 20Mb and speed tests of the new 'free access' community Wifi pilot, presented on a large plasma screen. The visitors were reported to be impressed by the presentation with Cllr Guy Jackson, Chairman of the Leicestershire and Rutland Parish Councils Association saying," I was delighted to be invited to view this innovative project. Access to high speed broadband will be an important element of rural community sustainability for the future. I wish the project every success".
