Rutland Telecom has won the Creative Enterprise Award for 2010 at the prestigious Mercury Business Awards held in the Greetham Valley Hotel. Runner up was Uppingham business 'Babybond'.

Commenting on the success of local businesses in the event  Ron Simpson, Chair of the Uppingham Business Forum and President of the Leicestershire and Rutland Chartered Management Institute said, " Once again Uppingham businesses are punching above their weight  and showcasing the town as a source of enterprise and innovation. Both these high street companies now have a significant national profile and are exemplars in their fields. They deserve the congratulations of us all."

Neighbourhood Forum Nominates Community Representatives PDF Print E-mail

Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum has nominated three community representatives for the Board of Uppingham First whose AGM will be held on May 13th 2010. Exisiting Directors Neil Hermsen and Ric Ellis have been re-elected and a third new nominee, Michael Wellen of the Rotary Club of Uppingham is to join them.  Uppingham Town Councillor Ron Simpson was re-elected as the Forum's Coordinator for 2010/11.

A lively Forum AGM, only the second since its formation, adopted a formal constitution and appointed a new Executive  Committee. The meeting received an update on the implementation of Uppingham 2025, discussed a strategy for attracting more third sector funding to the town, received a short presentation from Voluntary Action Rutland  on service provision to the Uppingham Community and reviewed the positive progress made by Uppingham First in its first year.
